Green Tea House
Although the owner will tell you that it was inspired less by the rigid designs of a traditional courtyard and more by a Zen Garden, the Green Tea House ’s high eves, wooden furniture and hanging lanterns evoke an old Beijing atmosphere. The Green Tea House was built just north of the famous Sanlitun Bar Street in 1998 by an entrepreneur and accomplished musician and has been meticulously decorated with Chinese antiques, stylish table-settings and flower arrangements.
The menu offers a wide selection of Chinese teas and several interesting western and Chinese fusion creations. A quiet, candle-lit dinner for two with tea will run about RMB160-250, with wine more. The place is delightful and charming. Since the dining room seats only about 15 people, reservations are needed.
