Itinerary
Pick you up your hotel at 08:30 and drive to Tanzhe Temple which stands in the Tanzhe Hills on the western outskirts of Beijing. The magnificent architecture of the temple could rival imperial palaces and halls. Originally built during the Jin Dynasty (AD265- 420), this temple is considered as the first temple that appeared in the Beijing area. So there is a saying that "First there was the Tanzhe Temple, and then there was Beijing." After that, drive to visit the Temple of the Reclining Buddha which is situated at the foot of the Western Hills. The temple was first built during the Zhenguan period (627-249) of the Tang Dynasty, when it was also known as the Temple of Peaceful Longevity. After lunch, continue to visit the Temple of Azure Clouds. Firstly built in the early 14th century and named the Nunnery of the Azure Clouds, this temple was expanded in the early 16th century and again during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in 1748. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Service ends.
